Night to Shine

We are so excited to be an official host church for this year’s Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. On one night, hundreds of churches of different denominations from all over the world will come together to celebrate people with special needs!

Volunteer Positions:

Buddy Team: Accompany and assist assigned guests throughout the evening, providing companionship and any assistance they may need during the event. Sit with their guest during dinner, dance with them, and participate in activities with them. We recommend volunteer buddies be at least 16 years old. It is encouraged to dress up as a buddy! Wear a suit, shirt and tie, prom dress, or a formal dress you have!

Check-In Team: In this role you will welcome the Kings and Queens, and get their lanyard for the night. You will then assist them with getting paired with a buddy. Once all guests are checked in, we will have you cheer on the Kings and Queens down the red carpet. No dress code or encouraged attire for this position.

Greeter + Bathroom Attendant: This dual volunteer position will start your night as a door greeter. You will hold the doors for the Kings and Queens as they enter the building; welcoming them with a smile and letting them know how happy we are to have them there! Once all Kings and Queens are checked in, your role will be to monitor the bathrooms. This includes making sure Kings and Queens go into their respective bathrooms alone, and if they do not come out in a timely manner, you and their buddy can go check on them. There is no dress code or encouraged attire for this position. Volunteers and buddies will not help guests with undressing, dressing, or toileting. Parents and caregivers will be contacted for this.

Sensory Space Attendant: Spend time with guests who may have become over-stimulated on the dance floor or in other areas of the prom. Interact with them by participating in sensory activities, singing or listening to calming music, or simply providing them with some quiet time. There is no dress code or encouraged attire for this position.

Hair & Makeup Team: Welcome each guest to the salon station for hair and makeup. Chat with them while you pamper them and make them feel special. Experience in this department is preferred. There is no dress code or encouraged attire for this position.

Crowns & Tiaras Team: Welcome each guest to the Crowns & Tiaras Station. Guide them through all the various choices of crowns and tiaras they can choose from, and help them if needed to choose the perfect crown or tiara for the evening! There is no dress code or encouraged attire for this position.

Shoeshine Team: Welcome each guest to the Shoeshine Station. Help them to find an open seat. Chat with them while you pamper them and make them feel special. There is no dress code or encouraged attire for this position.

Prom Area Food Service: Serve food in the main event space. Refill water, lemonade, and food warmers if needed. Clear tables of finished dinner plates as the Kings and Queens finish their meals. There is no dress code or encouraged attire for this position.

Crafts & Games Team: Participate in different games and crafts with the Kings, Queens, and their buddies during the night. Encourage guests and maintain a fun atmosphere. There is no dress code or encouraged attire for this position.

Limo Team: Assist with getting the correct number of people into the limo as they load and unload for limo rides. There is no dress code or encouraged attire for this position.

Flower Team: Help guests select and pin on their flowers, or place them on their wrists. There is no dress code or encouraged attire for this position.

Put Me Anywhere: As the event draws closer we will be able to more clearly see where our biggest needs and gaps are. By signing up here you are willing to help fill those gaps to make sure everything is fully covered for the evening! Details about where you will be placed will be emailed the week of the event.
