Donating Non-Cash Gifts (i.e. stock or mutual funds):
If you wish to donate eligible appreciated securities to AAC in order to receive an allowable donation for the full market value and avoid capital gains, please complete this document, send a copy to your broker to authorize the transfer, and send a copy to AAC (Attn: Amy Willson) advising us of the transaction.
Donating from your Retirement Account:
If you are 70 1/2 or older, you can give a portion of your IRA Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) directly to Appleton Alliance Church as a Qualified Charitable Deduction (QCD). Your QCD donation will not be taxed when it is sent directly to a charity. You can start this process by contacting your broker, mutual fund company, or financial advisor. Please feel free to contact Amy at AAC at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to discuss this further. (Please note: recent tax law changes have affected IRA RMDs. For those that reach age 70 ½ in 2020 or later, you must take your first RMD by April 1 of the year after you reach age 72).
One of the fastest-growing investment tools for charitable giving, donor-advised funds (DAFs) are like your own private foundation, but without any of the administrative red tape. They can be used to manage charitable donations on behalf of families or individuals. AAC has partnered with Orchard Alliance, an organization affiliated with the Christian Missionary & Alliance denomination. Orchard Alliance has the expertise available to help you establish a DAF. Please click here for more information.
Appleton Alliance Church would like to talk to you about other gift ideas that you have. Please feel free to contact Amy Willson, AAC’s Finance Director, or Bill Douglas, AAC’s Director of Operations, to discuss other options that may not be listed here.
If AAC has blessed you, and you would like to include AAC in your will or trust, Orchard Alliance (an organization affiliated with the Christian Missionary & Alliance denomination) has tools available to help you prepare your will from a Christian perspective. Please click here for more information about what Orchard Alliance can assist you with. You will watch a series of videos and then complete some worksheets to prepare you to meet with an attorney who can then draft your will documents that address your wishes.
