One Thing We Are Taking to Heaven

·

We don't know a lot about heaven, but as Pastor Mark preached on a few weeks ago, the Bible does give us some sneak peeks. One of the things we learn from the writer of Revelation, the Apostle John, is found in Revelation 7:9-10:

“After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. And they were shouting with a great roar,

‘Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!’”

This verse tells us a few things about heaven: Of all things God chose to not leave behind in designing our NEW, PERFECT, HEAVENLY BODIES, He chose our ethnicity. John, still "sees" people of a different nation in heaven, which means they must "look" like it.

He also notices their "language" which might mean that in heaven we will all speak our languages, but somehow understand one another. Perhaps God's glory and splendor is best described by leveraging all the languages in all the world that have ever existed throughout history? We don't know these things for sure, but what we do know is that a group of Christians look more like heaven's group of Christians when we unite with people of every nation, tribe, and tongue to worship and praise God.
