Did You Clean Your Basement

·

Psalm 119:129-144: “…As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands. Your laws are always right; help me to understand them so that I may live…”

At the beginning of the Safer-at-Home experience, one of my goals was to clean and organize the basement. This should have been a pretty simple task considering I was locked down in my home. However, it has been more than two months since starting Safer-at-Home and my basement has not received any attention from me. For some reason, it seems like it never fits into my schedule. So now I ask myself, was it really a priority or just a good idea?

The same is true for us when it comes to studying, worshipping, and praying. Is it a priority or just a good idea? I often hear parents say they have a hard time squeezing in time to have spiritual conversations or getting their kid to discipleship ministries because they are busy. So, did the coronavirus help remove this barrier? Or, is discipleship just a good idea?

My challenge to you is to make family discipleship a priority. Enjoy God's Word. If you have older students, sign up for The Holy Moses Project with Mark Harris. For younger families, take time to watch DL at Home with your children and have spiritual conversations during the week. Make God a priority, not just a good idea.
